Parent Resouces
At Esperanza Elementary, we deeply value the partnership between home, school, and community. Parents and family members play an important role in creating a supportive and enriching environment for all of our Golden Eagles. Our dedicated volunteers assist in classrooms by listening to students read, preparing materials, helping with special events, and providing additional support based on classroom needs.
The Esperanza PTA offers many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved. Through fundraising and volunteer efforts, the PTA helps enrich classroom instruction and provide extracurricular activities that make our school community thrive.Families also have a voice in school decision-making through the School Site Council, which helps guide additional programs and resources. Parents who are not native English speakers are encouraged to participate in ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee) and Latino Literacy meetings. These meetings provide strategies to support students at home, share important school information, and offer a welcoming space for questions in families’ native languages.Another way families can connect is through Parent University Nights, where parents learn more about supporting student success and accessing school resources. At Esperanza Elementary, we believe that strong family involvement leads to stronger student learning—and we are grateful for the many ways our families contribute to the success of our Golden Eagles!
After School Care
Esperanza Has two outside providers that offer afterschool programs on our school site. These programs are not run by Westside Union School District, but do offer afterschool child care opportunities on our campus, and include homework help and tutoring for our students. If you are interested in after school child care, please register through the individual websites for these companies.
Currently Esperanza has Boys and Girls Club of Antelope Valley and Innovation Education as on site options for after school care.
Visit the Parent Portal for access to attendance, grades and so much more!
Westside Union School District uses ParentSquare for site communication, teacher communication, clearing absences, and more!

Uniform Complaint Procedures
The Westside Union School District has the primary responsibility for compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. We have established Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP) to address allegations of unlawful discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying, and complaints alleging violation of state or federal laws governing educational programs, the charging of unlawful pupil fees and the non-compliance of our Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).
